Park Patrol

Privacy Policy

Effective August 4, 2026

Operated by Boni Software Systems (“Boni,” “we,” “us”)

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Boni Software Systems collects, uses, stores, and protects information in connection with the Park Patrol platform — including the worker app, admin dashboard, public status pages, and the parkpatrol.ca website (including the “/try” preview tool).

If you are a municipal customer (“Town”), this policy works alongside the Data Processing Terms attached to your Services Agreement, which governs how Boni handles information on the Town's behalf.

2. Who This Policy Covers

  • Town staff using the Park Patrol worker or admin app
  • Members of the public visiting a Town's public status page
  • Visitors using the /try preview tool
  • General visitors to parkpatrol.ca

3. Information We Collect

a) From Town staff (workers, supervisors, admins)

  • Name, role, and login credentials
  • Shift activity: checks performed, timestamps, location/facility data, notes, and photos attached during a shift
  • Digital signature captured at shift end
  • Device and usage information necessary for the app to function offline and sync

b) From the public

Public status pages display only aggregate, non-personal information (e.g. last-checked times, hours, field status). No names, staff identities, or resident information are shown. We do not collect personal information from members of the public browsing a status page.

c) From prospective customers (/try tool)

The customization inputs on this page — town name, brand colour, logo, and facility selections — stay in your browser and are never saved or transmitted to us; your logo in particular never leaves the page. We only collect information if you choose to submit the “Send this to Park Patrol” form, which includes:

  • Your name and email address
  • Any message you choose to include

We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry about Park Patrol.

d) General website usage

Standard technical information (e.g. browser type, general analytics) needed to operate and improve the site.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

  • Operate and provide the Park Patrol platform to Towns
  • Generate shift and inspection reports for a Town's own records
  • Respond to prospective customers who request contact
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the platform
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Town or worker data for advertising.

5. Where Information Is Stored

Park Patrol is hosted using third-party infrastructure providers: Vercel (application hosting) and Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage). Both are configured to operate in Canada — the database, authentication records, and uploaded files are held in Supabase's Canada (Central) region in Montreal, and the server-side application runs in Vercel's Canadian region.

Personal information described in this policy is stored and processed in Canada.

Static website files — JavaScript, stylesheets, images, and the application's own branding assets — are delivered from Vercel's global content delivery network, as is standard for web applications. Those files contain no personal information.

6. Data Separation

Park Patrol is a multi-tenant platform. Each Town's data is isolated using database-level access controls (row-level security), so one Town cannot access another Town's information.

7. Sharing of Information

We do not share personal information with third parties except:

  • With the infrastructure providers above, solely to operate the platform
  • When required by law
  • With a Town's own authorized administrators, as part of normal platform use

8. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Active Town data is retained for as long as the Town's account remains active.
  • If a Town's account is archived, data is retained but access is locked.
  • Data is only permanently deleted at a Town's request, and only once no shifts, reports, or other historical records depend on it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your role, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold. Requests from Town staff should generally go through your Town's administrator, who can also contact us directly.

10. Contact

Questions about this policy can be directed to privacy@bonisoftware.ca.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to Town administrators.
